You are right on with Don Williams. There is no more soothing of a voice in country music. Maybe Kieth Whitley or Earl Thomas Conley tie for second not so much for their voice but their songs. (Hats off to Saint Dale, I forgot about Vern Gosdin)
Female, again, right on. There has never been nor will there ever be anyone with a voice like Patsy Cline. Some of Dolly Parton’s older stuff is good but Alison Krauss does have that downbeat soothing tone to her. Plus she has roots in bluegrass I believe. Kinda hard to top that.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH BOTH YOU AND SAINT DALE..DON WILLIAMS IS AS COOL AND SMOOTH AS THEY COME..I’VE SEEN HIM IN CONCERT OVER 20 TIMES AND EACH TIME HE SIT’S ON THIS BAR STOOL IN THE CENTER OF THE STAGE AND HARDLY EVEN MOVES, BUT WHEN HE OPENS HIS MOUTH…”SWEET COUNTRY MUSIC, PURE AND SIMPLE”!!!!!!!
