There is no more soothing of a voice in country music. Maybe Kieth Whitley or Earl Thomas Conley tie for second not so much for their voice but their songs. (Hats off to Saint Dale, I forgot about Vern Gosdin) Female, again, right on. There has never been nor will there ever be anyone with a voice like Patsy Cline. Some of Dolly Parton's older stuff is good but Alison Krauss does have that downbeat soothing tone to her. Plus she has roots in bluegrass I believe. Kinda hard to top that.
